If you are interested in learning to fly aerobatics, we offer courses basic through advanced. Each course is between 5 and 7 hours of flying, depending on the students’ progress. A period of consolidation between the courses is recommended for the student. Aerobatic training is done in either a Pitts Special S2B/C or an Extra 300, depending on the student’s requirements.
The full spectrum of spin training is offered. Whether you want to just learn basic upright spins or explore the spinning envelope further and delve into the world of inverted, flat and accelerated spins we have the instructors and aircraft to teach you.
As a confidence builder for the non-aerobatic pilot, we offer unusual attitude recovery training (UART). This will give a pilot the confidence and skills to recover from almost any upset he may encounter while flying.
Taildragger conversions are offered on the Cessna 140 and the Cessna 185. It is recommended for those pilots that have little or no taildragger experience, that they cut their teeth on the Cessna 140. The Cessna 140 is a great gateway taildragger. Whereas the bigger, heavier and more powerful Cessna 185 requires a pilot with a little bit of experience and a good understanding of taildraggers.
Formation training is offered in the Pitts Specials and the T-6 Texans. Most military trained pilots have been trained in formation flying and given a strong enough foundation to build on if they choose to develop their formation flying envelope. Our course has been developed for the absolute beginner. We do not just offer flying skills! We teach you the philosophies of formation flying. From leading a formation to flying in the various wingman positions our course will give you the foundation required to start and develop a team of your own.
